WOW, WOW, WOW!
Saturday is my day to do chores, vacuuming, laundry, taking the dog for that LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG walk so as to make this more enjoyable I tuned in NBC TV and the Boston Bruins Montreal Canadian playoff game. Historically, these two teams don’t like one another particularly when fighting for the right to call Lord Stanley’s Cup theirs. The first game lived up to expectations of all including I going into overtime before the Canadians won and there was no doubt game 2 would be the same, maybe a notch livelier, eh?
In time my chores took that which is required to play two periods of body crunching hockey but from time to time I stopped for an update. During these the Canadians outplayed Boston and up 3 to 1 looking to cruise to a two game advantage over the Bruins. After five minutes of the third and my chores complete I settle on the couch with a hot, strong cup of coffee within reach to watch the rest of the game. Wow, what a third period it was! NBC Between the Benches commentator Pierre McGuire overheard and announced to the watching public Bruins player Shawn Thornton tell teammates,”…a goal every five minutes…” They took this to heart and scored three in five minutes and thirty-two seconds igniting the crowd. Myself, with windows open, as the weather here in the Northwest has warmed, I shout and fist pump hoping the neighbors just think the noise coming from soccer parents yelling in the nearby park.
Montreal is the site for the next two games with the series knotted at a game each and you can bet the fans are ready and will be loud, rough, and rowdy. I can hardly wait. I just watched, online, CBC’S Coaches Corner with the always fun Don Cherry and not surprised when he flashed his Boston Bruins cuff links, the once Boston coach is happy today. Hurry Hard!
