Well this is a first for me in many a year, barefoot in the park for lack of better description. The temperature here in Vancouver, Wa is an unseasonably 102 degree (according to the thermometer on my patio) and after a few hours of writing and watching the webcam of people move up and down the promenade of Canal Park at the foot of the aerial lift bridge in Duluth, Minnesota I needed a break. Even though the temperature dictacts a short stay in nature I decided to buck up and head outside with Fisher. With it hot outside I gamble no other dog walkers will be out instead waiting until the cool of late evening and find this correct as Fisher and I have the entire sun drenched park to ourselves. So, without a leash we head out me opting for the cooler grass or hot, hot, hot pavement but I soon discover the grass not much better the choice. Dry grass is sharp and prickly not comfortable to walk barefoot on but fortunately pillows of lush, soft green grass sooth foot bottoms.
After 10 minutes of walking, running, and wrestling with Fisher in the hot, hot, hot summer sun we head back indoors to wait, just like the others, until the sun dips into the Pacific and the air cools, then a long walk. Booya!
