nature’s plummet, once a year

as summer slowly cools down I make sure the Nikon is with me as merchandising takes me to various places here in the pacific northwest;  there are locations with rivers dissecting cities and towns, hilly topographies, inner-city, and least I forgot the countryside.

after the leaves have fallen to earth and raked up, burned, or tossed over garden bed I calculate that I have snapped more pictures of this time of year then there are members in an orchestra and I want to share this time year particularly at this time year.  to take ones mind off the high drifts of the white stuff blocking you in or causing difficulties whilst trying to clear a path to the car.  to take ones mind off bone chilling temperatures of nature and man (let us not forget the female persuasion), of the outpour of nature from above in the form of moisture (depending on where you live this can be down right aggravating), and all the other melodramas that play out as we are locked inside more than we can stand.

however, in order to make this tolerable for you the reader/viewer I will be sending out in pairs of four over a period of time as I want you to enjoy and forget about your cares if only for the briefest of moments in time.

  1. Your command of language astounds me. This passage has a few lines that really sang to me, most notably “I have snapped more pictures of this time of year than there are members in an orchestra.” It creates its own background music.
I sympathize with those glaring out the window at the snowfall. Fortunately the most recent nor’easter where I live has come and gone, but I anticipate more snow in the coming weeks. Thank you for these reminders of the crisp beauty of autumn to lift my spirits in the dull days of winter.
