moving through monochrome and stimulation

a few weeks ago i posted (see:  https://rockhouse54.wordpress.com/2018/02/27/stop-in-the-name-of for another look at this) pictures of the same scene in spectacular BLACK and WHITE and DAZZLING COLOR.  as i moved through time the idea played on the mind so i began collecting views throughout the portland, oregon vancouver, washington area, each shot in black and white then color leaving a unique impression on me, what do you think?

  1. For nature scenes, I prefer the colored versions, though the black-and-white do hearken back to the simpler (i.e. not so much social media) times when cameras couldn’t capture the color. The black-and-white also allow for more imagination; you can mentally paint the photos yourself, with any colors you want.
That fountain is a beautiful, stately structure. Still standing strong, I see, almost a century after it arrived in Portland! I wonder, too, about what once stood on that patch of dirt.

    1. thank you abigail, i too often wonder what took place on certain areas of ground, really works the mind. in the days of black and white photography yore some photographers actually added color to their photos which gave the photo a new dimension.
