hey mac get me those panos! right c.j.!

many moons ago 35mm film cameras were formated to shoot in a panoramic nature (mainly blocking off the top and bottom portions of the film) turning me into an instant fan.  when movies began showing up in theaters and on vhs tape with the “letterbox”  format i dreamed of, someday, being able to shoot pictures whether a wide shoot of the grand tetons or the grand canyon but also to use the feature to tweek the outcome.  well, that day is here as my lumix camera by panosonic has a panoramic setting that is so easy to use any scene can now be panoramic, certain shoots i find a center point, move in close for some distortion, and fire away.

over the next few posts i am going feature some of what i capture hoping they are really knock me out of my rocking chair goodness.

up to the creation of the interstate system a lot of vancouver barracks (vancouver, washington) was dotted with buildings of some sort but once the freeway built all that remains of some is this red fire hydrant

this hydrant is in the middle of a field on the barracks and is the center of attraction

strolling the grounds on a different day i came across this mighty oak, wish it could talk has been on the barracks awhile. the road in background cuts across the grounds for walking and light traffic.
